[Around Bicolandia] CAMARINES NORTE - Army in Tilapia project

LABO, CAMARINES NORTE— The Philippine Army 902nd Infantry (Fight and Serve) Brigade through the officers and members of the 902nd Brigade Enlisted Personnel (EP) Ladies Club spearheaded the Aqua Culture (Tilapia) backyard raising project at the fish pond of Camp Busig-on at Barangay Tulay-na-Lupa, here last November 28.

Col. Carlos E Luces, 902nd IBde commander, revived the livelihood project on tilapia backyard raising with the help of Brigade staff officers and key non-commissioned officers.

The intended beneficiary of the project is the 902nd Brigade EP Ladies Club. To jumpstart the project, Luces sought the help and assistance of Camarines Norte Governor Jesus O. Typoco, Jr. for financial support.

The project re-launching was held last Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in the presence of officers and enlisted personnel of the unit. The project will be a continuing activity for the dependents of the soldiers in order to earn an extra income and uplift their living conditions. (902nd IBde release)
