Bicol BIR exceeds target by P455.7M


Sorsogon City top collector

Legazpi City— internal revenue collection in bicol for the month of September amounted to P260.44 million to push the first to third quarters cumulative collection (January to September) to P2.79 billion overshooting the regional revenue target collection for the period of P2.33 billion by P455.7 million or 19.5 per cent.

BIR Bicol OIC Regional Director Edgar P. Claveria commended all the revenue district offices in the Bicol region for surpassing their respective collection targets during the regular monthly staff conference held here, last October 25 and urged them to sustain their good performance until the year-end.

The September revenue collection of P260.4 million is higher by P26.27 million or 11.22 per cent over the P234.1 million target. It is also higher by some P34.1 million or 15.07 per cent compared to last year’s collection of P226.3 million for the same month.

Among the seven revenue district offices in Bicol, the Revenue District Office in Sorsogon City (RDO 68) headed by Arturo Abenoja, Jr. topped the collection effort with P22.06 million for a 43.98 per cent increase over the P15.32 million target, followed by RDO 69 (Catanduanes) led by Ramon T. King who achieved a total collection of P14.402 million which is higher by P3.6 million over its P10.73 million goal.

The third collection performer is RDO 67 (Legazpi City) under the supervision of Ma. Luisa I. Belen which exceeded its P74.87 million goal by P20.65 million or 27.59 per cent.

The other two district offices that surpassed their respective collection goals are RDO 65 (Naga City) under Socorro R. Lafuente, which collected P69.99 million for an increase of P4.75 million or 7.29 per cent over the P65.236 million target, and RDO 66 (Iriga City) led by Monib M. Dimakuta, collected P16.88 million against P16.50 million goal for a 2.32 per cent increase.

Director Claveria is optimistic for more achievements for this year’s last quarter, working together as a team with the newly installed Assistant Regional director Diosdado R. Mendoza both of whom have committed to vigorously pursue the thrusts of the Bureau to be able to sustain the government development agenda.
