| BICOL PATRONESS – Thousands of Catholic faithful joined the Traslacion on Friday, September 7 during which the Image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia was transferred from the Basilica Minore to the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral at the start of the 9-day novena for the Peñafrancia Fiesta celebration (top photo). In above photo, aboard a barge the Image is returned to the Basilica Minore nine days later on Saturday, September 15 in a fluvial procession along the Naga River. The tradition has been going on for 300 years now and is being replicated in some parts of the country and abroad. (EDDIE LABAO) |
