Three-term Tigaon Mayor Elmo L. Bombase who lost in the congressional race in the Third District of Camarines Sur remains undaunted and says he will prepare during the next three years for the 2010 elections.

The department of Justice is readying charges against those who received classified or intelligence information from former Police Sr. Supt. Michael Ray Aquino supplied by Filipino FBI agent Leandro Aragoncillo, both of whom have been convicted in the US of espionage charges and are serving prison sentences.

Recipients of the intelligence information intended to help oust President Arroyo reportedly were former President Estrada, Senator Panfilo Lacson and Camarines Sur Congressman Arnulfo Fuentebella.

Obviously, GMA is not going to be ousted.

But others will be getting in –– inside the prison.

Incidentally, Michael Ray Aquino was one of the principal suspects in the murder of Bubby Dacer. He fled to the US with another police officer, Chief Supt. Cesar Mancao in July 2001 but both had been entangled in the espionage case.

Another suspect who remained in the Philippines, Supt. Teofilo Viña, was killed in Cavite.

Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales appealed this month to observe proper clothing during weddings so as not to distract those who are praying. not only in weddings.

The Catholic Church is peeved over the increasing number of people who come to Church to attend Mass and other Liturgical functions dressed in a way that disrespects the sanctity of the House of God and the sacredness of the Liturgical Celebration.

As a place of worship the Church should be accorded proper respect.

Some churchgoers think they are going to beach parties or going to feed their hogs in their backyards.

But this is peanuts compared to the P2.13 billion that the government must spend for this coming electoral exercises according to Budget Secretary Rolando Andaya, Jr.

Senator Loren Legarda was reported in a Metropolitan newspaper issue of August 12, 2007 as calling for investigation into complaints by Bicol victims of last year’s typhoons and floods that foreign relief assistance intended for them had not been sufficiently distributed.

Of course

The bulk had been reserved for the May, 2007 elections to appear as campaign dole-outs of some candidates.

Cebu Congressman Pablo Garcia calls the Human Security Act of 2007 also known as Anti-Terror Law a toothless tiger.

The law is seriously flawed because of two conditions needed before a crime could be classifi ed as terrorism: first, the offense causes widespread and extraordinary panic among the people; and second, it is intended to coerce the government to give in to an unlawful demand.

Bomb any place if one may, but if no demand is made on the government it would not be an act of terrorism.
