If we are to recall the many precious gifts God has given us to treasure and care for, certainly counted in the long list is the gift of home. The basic truth we have learned about home is that it is where we belong, and what builds us up as one family at home is love. Home is where we are first loved and taught how to love in return.
Time comes when we have to leave home especially as we search for our own destiny. But leaving home does not mean forgetting home. How could one ever forget home! How could we ever forget the joy, the comfort, the peace, and the warmth that is home!
Balik Caramoan 2007 provides us with the opportunity to once again be back home perhaps after a long while of having been away or alone from home, to revisit as it were our past with fondness and nostalgia and to rekindle the relationship we have reluctantly left behind in this our most revered place of birth.
There in not such a feeling so strong as the feeling of missing home. The lyrics of a song about home remind us of the emotion which accompanies us in going home:
Oh that I had wings of the wind
To fly home, to sail home, to be home
I cannot wait, time forbid
I cannot wait to be home, to be home
To all the people who are involved in this particular undertaking BALIK CARAMOAN 2007, our sincerest thanks and congratulations! To all the sons and daughters of Caramoan who are making their way back home, our heartfelt welcome and best regards!
God be with you as you journey to Caramoan, our beautiful and beloved home.
