Another Simando lawyer

Atty. Amador L. Simando, Jr. passed the recent bar examinations, adding to the growing number of lawyers in the Simando family, a once impoverished clan in the remote coastal town of Garchitorena.

The new lawyer is the eldest of seven children of Atty. Amador L. Simando, Sr. and the late Salvadora Legacion of Buhi, Camarines Sur.

A graduate of the University of Nueva Caceres, the new lawyer was an active student leader during his college days. He was elected speaker of the Student Congress and governor of the Commerce Student Council for two consecutive terms.

Married to Marian Fuentebella Simando, a classroom teacher at the Naga Central School II with whom he has three children, the younger Simando is actually the fifth lawyer in the Simando family.

The first lawyer in the family was his father, Amador, Sr. who placed 12th in the 1980 bar examinations, followed by Atty. Edmundo Simando, incumbent mayor of Garchitorena, Camarines Sur.

Atty. Noreen Simando San Luis and Atty. Charo Simando Barcinas, both nieces of the elder Simando, have become lawyers many years back.

Atty. San Luis is the daughter of Alex San Luis, present KAMPI mayoralty candidate in Pili, Camarines Sur and COA Auditor Leda Simando-San Luis, younger sister of the elder Simando, while Atty. Charo Barcinas is the daughter of Retired RTC Judge Ceferino Barcinas and Mrs. Lea Simando Barcinas, Simando’s elder sister.
