A business executive who for the last three decades has hugged some of the key positions in several industrial corporations in the country will head the list of Caramoanons who will receive one of the eight Outstanding Caramoanon Awards along with seven others who have excelled in their chosen fields of endeavor or accomplished feats that have brought honor and distinction to the town or that are beneficial to the people. The awarding ceremonies will be held Friday evening, May 4 during the Fellowship Night at the Caramoan Sports Center. The Outstanding Caramoanon Awards will be given the Caramoan Residents Association in Naga City and its Environs (CRANE), the civic organization sponsoring the Balik Caramoan 2007 and the town fiesta celebrations from May 1 to 8.
Señar who placed second in the 1967 Civil Engineering Board Examinations had served as general manager and director of the Philippine Petroleum Corporation, president of the Hyatt Terminal and Industrial Corporation, vice president and director of Liquigaz Philippine Corporation and management team member of Shell Philippines.
He is also credited for bringing in Total Petroleum Philippines to invest in the Philippines in petroleum marketing and also for bringing in Liquigaz Philippines Corporation, now the biggest LPG marketer in the country.
Also slated to receive the Outstanding Caramoanon Award are Most Rev. Manalo A. de los Santos, D.D., Bishop of Virac, the first and only Caramoanon bishop; Dr. Waldimar Alarkon who has been recognized as one of the top psychiatrists in the United States and Salvador Señar who overcame grinding poverty through hard work and determination and retired as a ranking officer in the U.S. Navy.
Other awardees are Dr. Lucio F. Teoxon for his outstanding accomplishment in Higher Education as a professor in three Bicol and Manila Univerities and as book author and editor of a number of collegiate and post-graduate publications; Atty. Renato Z. Enciso, for government banking service as Cluster Area Manager in three regions in the country with a rank of vice president in the Quedancor; and Barangay Captain Melinda Raygon of barangay Gata, Caramoan for her leadership and sustained campaign against illegal fishing and for the preservation of the environment.

A lone posthumous award will also be given for the late Rosalio Beltran Arcilla, Jr. who died only in July last year. He was acclaimed as one of the finest sculptors and artists in the country who had won several national art competitions and whose sculptures are landmarks in Metro Manila and other parts of the world. At one time he headed an international organization of sculptors which further reinforced his reputation as an artist of international fame.
