Caramoan Beach - The serene, pristine beauty of Honongan Beach in Caramoan in the northeastern tip of Camarines Sur awaits summer visitors to the coastal town which has more than a dozen such fabulous beaches and exotic islets. The whole town populace is agog over the Balik Caramoan 2007 project of the CRANE which encourages Caramoanons who are now residents of Metro Manila and other parts of the country including those living abroad to come home from May 1 to 8, 2007 |

HEAVY FAVORITE - Congressman Luis R. Villafuerte filed with Comelec provincial office here in Camarines before the March 29 deadline his certificate of candidacy for congressman in the Second District of Camarines Sur without so much fanfare like what accompanies the filing ritual of many candidates. Congressman Villafuerte who has been awarded the Most Outstanding Congressman for Three Consecutive Years from 2004 to 2006 because of his superlative performance in the present congress is conceded to be a landslide winner. In fact, his opponent, former Congressman Sulpicio Roco, Jr. has been advised by his mentors and even a ranking Church prelate to put off his bid and concentrate instead in helping his sister-in-law, Sonia Roco, who is running for senator, and bide for his time. |

GUIJALO PORT - Damaged by the last two typhoons Reming and Seniang this facility was visited at presstime by DOTC representatives from Manila possibly for its rehabilitation. The DOTC inspectors should have looked into the actual cause of the unusual devastation, it being the only one of four similar ports built at the same time in Camarines Sur from the same foreign assistance from the Japanese government that was ruined even while the typhoons were not really strong in Caramoan. Similar ports in San Jose, Tamban in Tinambac and Pasacao were unscathed. |
