Mayor Jesse Robredo and his wife both fi led their certifi cates of candidacy for mayor in Naga City.
Robredo obviously wants to be sure the Naga City mayorship remains in the family. Like a family property.

Robredo was afraid he would lose in the long-pending citizenship case against him which would result in his disqualification.
But if he does lose the case, then Naga City was governed by an alien for 12 years!

Whoever proposed the desilting of Lagonoy River may next time propose the dredging of Lagonoy Gulf.
The government is full of nincompoops as well as crooks.

Only rivers that tend to overfl ow and cause damage should reasonably be desilted or dredged.
If every river is desilted all the money accruing to the government would not be sufficient.
But alas, desilting is a favorite project of people with the penchant to cheat. A desilting project is difficult if not impossible to quantify.
That is why here in Camarines Sur there is reportedly a P200 million desilting project that no one has seen but which has already been collected. Who the culprits are and the accomplices people ought to know before the May 14 elections.

Supreme Court Justice Reynato Puno has created a sub-committee that would formulate new rules governing electoral protests.
Certainly, this won’t help anymore Bula Mayor Benjamin Decena who won in his election protest against Mayor Rolando Canet with less than two months to go before the next election but has not been allowed just the same to assume the post.
Decena’s lawyer, Atty. Adan Botor, said the RTC turned down his motion for execution pending approval appeal because there was no urgent reason for Decena to assume!
