Amistad hosts May 1 marathon
The Balik Caramoan 2007 festival will be auspiciously ushered in among other activities by a 15-kilometer marathon to be sponsored by Amistad, the same organization that hosted last year’s town fiesta celebrations. The participation of the group was warmly welcomed by CRANE, this year’s principal sponsors of both the Balik Caramoan 2007 festival and the Caramoan town fiesta, along its policy to involve as many organizations and Caramoanons is what it described as a “common undertaking for the welfare of the town.”
Amistad which is led by Boyet Culvera said his group would give out P5,000 for first prize, P2,000 for second prize and P1,000 for third prize and P300 each for fourth to tenth places.
The marathon route will start from Guijalo to Bikal and wind up near the Millennium Stage at the town proper.
Among active members of Amistad aside from Culvera are Col. Santiago Baluyot, Tony Co, Engr. Oscar Fernandez, Francis Riva, Henry Autor and Florestan Valencia.
