Valdez is full-fledged ADE


Valdez

Engr. Rolando Forbes Valdez who has been OIC assistant district engineer of the Second Engineering District of Camarines Sur since 2004 has been installed as full-fledged assistant district engineer after his recent promotion on November 26, 2006 as Engineer IV.

He has thus become eligible also for appointment as district engineer. Since 1986 until August, 2003 Engr. Valdez had been assigned at the Bureau of Maintenance of the DPWH in Manila starting first as senior civil engineer and gradually rising in the DPWH ladder until he was designated OIC assistant district engineer on August 4, 2004.

Currently pursuing his Master in Public Administration degree at the University of Nueva Caceres, Engr. Valdez finished his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the Pamantasan ng Maynila in 1982 and passed the CE board examinations the following year.

Since 1989, after evaluating his potentials the DPWH central office has been sending Engr. Valdez to attend crucial seminars to upgrade his competence and accelerate his professional growth. Considered most significant was the seminar he attended for two months at the Belgian Road Research Center at Brussels, Belgium on “Maintenance and Environmental Problems”.

He had also participated in the following vital seminars: seminar on materials engineering and quality control, seminar on instructional techniques, seminar-workshop on the presentation of the program implementation plan, comprehensive training for DPWH field engineers and assessment and rating of construction supervising consultant. He also underwent computer-related trainings including courses on PC DOS, Wordstar and Data Base III, Micro Computer Training on road inventory system and Computer presentation MS powerpoint.

Engr. Valdez is married to Thelma Rolloda Valdez with whom he has two children.
