Who is the Capitol employee who was gifted with a second-hand car worth at least P300,000.00 by a

People’s Asia magazine recently gave awards to those it considered as “newsmakers, achievers, heroes and rising stars” and Gov. L-Ray was among them.
A hero definitely he is not. A newsmaker certainly he is.

The big news that catapulted the governor to the list of elite awardees that included Manny Pacquiao and those who climbed Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world, was said to be adventure tourism, presumably the capitol water sports complex.
There’s really nothing like it here in Bicol because it is a very expensive tourism project.
Investing a huge sum, reportedly about P150 million, for the project whose value ordinary people could note easily appreciate is indeed a daring adventure.

Former Senator Francisco Tatad is bitter over the choice of the United Opposition of siblings in the senatorial slate.
That is understandable. First, he was left out. Second, he probably has no relative to ran with him in the Senate even if there is a chance and there is a slot.

On reading a column in this paper about Dante Jimenez, former South Cotabato Gov. Hilario de Pedro said he is also annoyed with the antics of the VACC chairman who intrudes into every alleged crime that merits the front pages of the metropolitan newspapers. he appears like the defender of the oppressed when all that he apparently wants is publicity and for the long, long time that he has been in the headlines he has not really helped solve a criminal case, not even the death of his own relative.
Yet he struts around as if he wields authority over every crime committed in this country.
After former Gov. J. Antonio Leviste admitted shooting his associate, Rafael de las Alas, he again rushed to the scene and had himself photographed holding a picture of the victim.
What is this guy trying to prove? In Camarines Sur, when the NBI regional director was recalled to the central office he lambasted politicians he thought responsible for the transfer. The following week, he was demanding that the entire Army leave the Bicol region, only because a few military personnel were said to be involved in human rights violation.
Yes, former Governor de Pedro was right in saying that we have enough of nuisances in our midst.
