GMA appoints Caramoan judge


Aganan

President Gloria Macapagal Arrroyo has appointed Atty. Jorge John de los Santos Aganan Municipal Trial Court Judge of Caramoan, ending more than 10 years that the town was without a resident judge.

Aganan who took his oath before Associate Justice Alicia Austria Martinez of the Supreme Court on December 19 was appointed by the President on December 7, 2006.

He will formally assume his post about the third week of January, 2007 after undergoing a required seminar to be conducted by the Department of Justice.

Only 33 years old, Judge Aganan previously worked as Public Attorney II at Libmanan, Camarines Sur. He started as Court Stenographer at RTC Branch 57 also in Libmanan then as Clerk of Court at RTC Branch 56, still in Libmanan before he was appointed in 2004 as Public Attorney II. He also taught pre-law subjects at the Ateneo de Naga University. He finished his Bachelor of Laws in 1999 at the University of Nueva Caceres.

He is married to Tricia P. Aganan with whom he has two children, Cassiopeia, 10, and Trixia Jorgia, 7. They have established residence at Grandview Heights, Pacol, Naga City.

The new judge is the son of retired Naga City policeman Jorge P. Aganan and 4th Asst. Provincial Prosecutor Hedy Aganan of the Camarines Sur Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
