PRESENTACION, C. SUR- This coastal town lying midway to Caramoan from its mother Lagonoy town needs a more dynamic and visionary leadership in order to move forward and keep pace with developmental growth.

Former three-term Municipal Kagawad Agnes Begino, 36, who first rose to prominence as a youth leader said that the local leadership must have specific plans to improve the lives of the people that are time-bound and measurable and not just attend to ordinary routine functions and be at the mercy of the district congressman.

Begino was topnotcher councilor twice in her three terms.

To aggravate matters, some local officials are known to be frequently out of town for personal purposes and hardly for the benefit of their constituents.

Adequate food and lack of income opportunities remain to be the main problems of the town but these are not being addressed at all.

Ms. Begino, a registered social worker who graduated from the Universidad de Sta. Isabel in 1994 said she has not heard of any program or project at all of the municipal government that could help elevate the quality of life of the people.

Once a barangay of Lagonoy town named Parubcan, Presentacion is today one of the poorest towns in Camarines Sur and in the Bicol Region if not in the whole country.

It expects to benefit from the influx of tourists to neighboring Caramoan with the on-going construction of the Presentacion-Caramoan coastal road but it is only one of the possibilities and the town itself must have a plan of its own on how it could move forward.

“The problems of the town cannot be solved by just drinking with leaders and supporters”, Ms. Begino said alluding to the habitual drinking sprees of the incumbent mayor.

Ms. Begino said she is ready to give the electorate of the town an option under a new leadership prepared to tackle the immediate problems of the town.
