World-class tourism potentials in Caramoan and the water sports complex at the Camarines Sur Provincial Capitol grounds at Cadlan, Pili were the focus of the Bicol presentation at the three-day 17th Travel Mart on September 8-10, 2006 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

Tourism Regional Director Maria Ong Ravanilla said the Bicol presentation focused exclusively on Caramoan and the water sports complex at the capitol in support of Gov. L-Ray Villafuerte’s tourism development thrust.

Camarines Sur has always actively participated in the annual tourism show in Metro Manila designed to draw attention to regional tourism priorities. Camarines Sur was winner twice in the Travel Mart show competition during the time of Gov. Luis R. Villafuerte when the province entered in the parade contest the Bicol Express train and the galleon believed built at Dalupaon, Pasacao which was used in the trade between Manila and Acapulco, Mexico.

Featured in the Bicol booth were photos of more than a dozen prime tourism potentials in Caramoan mostly fabulous beaches and islets all still awaiting development by private investors.

Previous Bicol travel mart presentations centered on key tourist attraction of every province in the region like Mayon Volcano in Albay, butanding in Sorsogon and the rodeo in Masbate.

This is the first time Caramoan has become the focus, anguring well for the tourism development program of the town.
