Only CRANE members of good standing may avail of small loans to finance livelihood projects under the micro-financing program of the organization.
This was the lead criteria recommended to the Executive Committee by the Income Generating Committee as the organization starts its lending program on Aug. 15, 2006.
The micro-lending program had received P300,000 fund assistance from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Congressman Luis R. Villafuerte which was released through the Department of Trade and Industry Regional Office on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at the DTI Provincial Office here at Panganiban Drive, Naga City.
DTI Regional Director Jocelyn L.B. Blanco personally handed the check for P300,000.00 to CRANE officers led by Dominador Alarkon, Jr., president; Atty. Florencio Rosales, chairman of the board; Dr. Dolly Roa-Perez executive vice president; Emma Borebor-Boncacas, vice president for internal affairs, and Romeo M. Borja, vice president for external affairs. The CRANE president had earlier signed a memorandum of agreement with Director Blanco.
The Income Generating Committee (IGC) which will directly have custody of the fund and manage the lending operation also witnessed the turnover ceremony. The committee is chaired by Sofronio P. Altez, retired Regional Agricultural Statistics Officer; Atty. Renato Enciso, Quedancor Regional vice president; CSSAC professor Raul B. Ruiz, retired COA auditor Gertrudis Galan, Wilma Recto-Villegas; and Danilo de los Santos.
The IGC had also recommended that applicants with existing livelihood projects will have priority in the allocation of loan funds.
Members of good standing are those who have duly registered and paid the membership fee and the annual dues, attended CRANE meetings and participated in its activities. CRANE held five general assembly meetings in 2005 alone while officers met 20 times within the same year.
