The Caramoan Residents Association in Naga City and its Environs (CRANE) has urged the Caramoan municipal government headed by Mayor Francis Benemerito to hold a dialogue with the San Jose municipal government led by Mayor Gil Pacamarra to simultaneously improve port services at Sabang, San Jose and Guijalo, Caramoan. Sabang, San Jose and Guijalo, Caramoan are entry points for tourists to the Caramoan Peninsula where port services are of critical concern.

The government has already built first-class port facilities both at Guijalo and sitio Talisay, in barangay Dolo adjacent to barangay Sabang but passengers continue to go through the ordeal of being borne on the shoulders of porters at Sabang, San Jose because the Talisay Port is not being utilized. CRANE noted that motorboats continue to dock at Sabang which has no port facilities instead of the Talisay Port which was built at enormous cost with assistance from the Japanese government. Moreover, comfort rooms in both ports have not been properly maintained and even vandalized when such facilities are what tourists primarily look for.

CRANE Executive Vice President Dr. Dolly Roa- Perez who heads the Balik Caramoan Project Committee said she is willing to arrange the dialogue knowing that Mayor Pacamarra, San Jose Vice Mayor Chito Milante and the Sagguniang Bayan of the town are also desirous to support the tourism program for the area. Even if most tourists may be bound to Caramoan or to tourist spots in Presentacion like Aguirangan, they would be passing through San Jose, Dr. Dolly Roa-Perez pointed out.
