CRANE officers and members gave a surprise despedida party for Ms. Alice Señar Alarkon at her residence at Gimenez Park Subdivision here in Naga City Tuesday evening, June 20 as token of appreciation for her invaluable role in the organization.

Ms. Alarkon is the widow of the late Engr. Felizardo Alarkon, Jr. who served as City Engineer of Iriga City and Deputy Director for Planning of the defunct Bicol River Basin Development Program. Ms. Alarkon herself had served as manager of the LWUA in Iriga City. She is presently a member of the CRANE board of directors.

Ms. Alarkon left on June 23 for United States and will be away for about a year or even longer. She had actually lived in the US for several years when her husband was still alive and pursuing studies and researches on flood control.

In their brief messages during the party, CRANE president Dominador Alarkon, Jr. and executive vice president Dolly Roa Perez both attributed the successful revival of the organization to the untiring and dedicated efforts of Ms. Alarkon. She was always deeply involved in every CRANE activity and spent many days campaigning for membership in the initial stage of the reorganization of the CRANE in 2004 and 2005.

Her trip to the US could again be very productive for the organization since she could proceed to coordinate with Caramoanons in the United States on the Balik Caramoan Project being planned for 2007.

The party was enlivened with presence of the CRANE chair led by indefatigable Ms. Amelia Babilonia Borebor.
