Congressman Luis R. Villafuerte (2nd Dist., Camarines Sur) was among a handful of Congressmen who recorded perfect attendance in congressional sessions from the start of the 13th Congress in July, 2004.
Congressman Villafuerte’s record should even be more impressive when the fact that he has not missed a single committee meeting is considered as no other Congressman may have possibly achieved the same feat.
The only Bicolano solon included in the elite list, Congressman Villafuerte was also recently selected by the media covering Congress as “ on top of 30 most outstanding Congressmen” last year.
This citation for perfect attendance is considered significant since Congress is presently deliberating on penalizing members who are frequently absent during sessions.
Voted several times as Most Outstanding Governor of the Philippines, Congressman Villafuerte has been very active in house deliberations and is among a few House leaders whose opinion on current issues is frequently sought by metropolitan media.
Now president of KAMPI, a party supportive of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Congressman Villafuerte was also among those with the biggest number of house bills and resolutions filed among incumbent lawmakers in the country.
