In an effort to raise funds to sustain its scholarship and livelihood programs CRANE has ventured into income generating activities, the latest of which was the Bingo party held at the ALDP Compound along the Diversion Road in Naga City last Sunday, May 14.
The bingo socials had been estimated to be able to raise for the organization at least P 25,000.00, enough to fund the scholarship for one semester of at least two college students.
CRANE had earlier received donations from Caramoanons in the United States to help fund its activities. Total donations ran to more than P112,000 under the current rate.
CRANE will also start every soon its micro-financing program with an initial capital of P300,000 from the PDAF of Congressman Luis R. Villafuerte. The organization will lend out the money to members of good standing at an interst rate of only 8% per annum.
The bingo party was managed by the Ways and Means Committee newly appointed by CRANE president Dominador Alarkon, Jr. The group is headed by Nimfa Medel Bichara as chairperson; Melanie Alarcon, vice chairman; Engr. Vic Abundabar, Nora Rodriguez, Roger Alarkon and Igmar Francia as members.
