Alejo couple marks 50th wedding year

Engr. and Mrs. Eduardo Alejo Sr. (nee Lourdes Arcilla) will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, June 3, 2006 with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Immaculate Concepcion Parish at Concepcion Pequeña, Naga City.

Merienda Cena will follow at Magsaysay Avenue also in Naga City.

All their six children, including those now residing abroad will be around for the occasion, according to Engineer Alejo who retired in 1994 as Assistant District Engineer at the DPWH First Engineering District in Camarines Sur which at the time included the present first and second engineering districts in the province. Mrs. Alejo retired as a public school teacher and her last assignment was at the Tabuco Elementary School here in Naga City.

Both are CRANE members, Mrs. Alejo having come from the big Arcilla clan in Caramoan before establishing their residence at Solid Street here in Naga City.

Their actual wedding date is June 6 but the celebration will be held June 3 to coincide with Engineer Alejo’s 77th birthday.

Eldest among their children is Annielou who works as nurse at the Fondazione Don Carlo Hospital in Milan, Italy. She is married to Perry Pamplona from Manila who also works in Milan.

Eduardo, Jr. is a DPWH engineer at the DPWH Camarines Sur Second Engineering District. His wife is Debbie Estaniero from Tabuc, Kalinga-Apayao who teaches at the Camarines Sur National High School.

Emma is another civil engineer at the NIA regional Office in Naga City. Her husband, Siervo Manlagñit is also a civil engineer and is presently NIA Provincial Engineer for Sorsogon.

Marilou is a Masscom graduate who works in an insurance company in Toronto, Canada. Her husband, Gabriel Haddad from Syria, also works in Canada.

Jerry who took up civil engineering is in the contracting business while his wife Bernadette Bongat Alejo teaches in a private school.

Mariejoy is a BS Biology graduate who heads the Student Affairs Department of the Ateneo de Manila University. Her husband, Alejandro Adolfo also works in the same university.
