Tomas Crisologo Recto of the Camarines Sur Council who is a Master Teacher II at the Caramoan Central School was chosen as one of nine national awardees for the 2006 Tribute to the Scoutmasters.
Recto is the first from Caramoan and the sixth from the Camarines Sur to receive the award since its inception 11 years ago. Two Bicolanos were nominated this year but only Recto made it.30 scoutmasters in all throughout the country were nominated.
Other awardees were Gelacio Arcita and Alfredo Barroso (Laguna Councuil), Jorge Borja, Jr. (Baguio City Council), Jose Escano, (Tarlac Council), Elma Gaviola (Davao City Council), Rodolfo Manumbras (Bulacan Council), Zenaida Tolentino (San Pablo City Council), and Gilbert Yangco, (Quezon City Council).
The awarding ceremony was held on May 25, 2006 at the Grand Men Seng Hotel in Davao City.
Aside from being a BSP assistant trainer leader, Recto is also director of CASURECO IV representing Caramoan.
Recto has been scoutmaster since 1972.
