DAY ONE May 1, 2007 / Tuesday

Opening Ceremonies and Launch of CARAMOAN CARAVAN at the Provincial Capitol Complex. Balik Caramoan participants, CRANEOfficers and Members, Special Guests, Sponsors, Public Officials and media converge for a short send-off ceremony to mark the start of the eight-day festivities. En masse departure by land transport to Port of Talisay in San Jose Town where festively adorned sea crafts awaits the caravan to ferry them all to the Port of Guijalo, Caramoan. Upon arrival at Guijalo, caravan re-assembles in decorated cabanas, tents and rest sheds while dancing and singing pastoras welcome them. VIPs and sponsors are feted with garlands by Miss Caramoan Candidates.

A Welcome Luncheon Programme shall be hosted by local government officials led by the Municipal Mayor. A Rondalla Ensemble shall provide musical entertainment.

Registration of Balikbayans as BALIK CARAMOAN 2007 participants, and distribution of Visitor’s Guide Kits at nearby Visitors Center.

Opening round of the Singing and Dance Competitions at 5:00 PM.

 

DAY TWO May 2 / Wednesday

Pre-Selection for Miss Caramoan Beauty Pageant at 8:00 AM at the Kalagikhik Beach. At the Churchyard Patio, renowned Bicolano painters led by Mr. Pancho Piano with equally famous guest artists from Metro Manila will hold the Painting Exhibitions. Those who want their portraits done for a fee may present themselves as the artists’ subjects.

At past noontime on the same venue of the Painting Exhibition, will be the Opening of the Cultural-Historical and Agricultural Exhibits and Performance Showcase. Participating barangays will showcase and promote their indigenous resource-based products, local talents and feature competition on best booth design and displays. Shortly after, the Opening of the Sports Competitions will be held at the Town’s Sports Complex.

 

DAY THREE May 3 / Thursday

Early morning at Gota Beach, Mr. Pancho Piano and his group of renowned painters will hold the Layag or Boat-Sail Painting Exhibitions. The artistic and colorfully-painted boat-sails will then be mounted in their respective boats to adorn the nearby seascape during the festivities. Riding on these boats will be a fabulous photo opportunity for tourists and guests. The Boat Races and other water sports and games will commence on the same venue.

In the afternoon, a soft-launch of the coffee table book “Captivating Caramoan – An Explorer’s Guide” will be held at La Casa Roa. The 250-page all-photo compilation of the author, Mr. Ric Perez, features the sheer beauty of the seascapes and landscapes, the verdant and variegated flora, and uniquely endemic fauna of Caramoan. The must-have souvenir item will be made available to the public for the first time.

The evening features the continuation of the Singing and Dance Competitions.

 

DAY FOUR May 4 / Friday

At the Parish Church of the Town’s Patron, St. Michael the Archangel, the Liturgical Celebration will be held at (9:00 AM, highlighted by the Concelebrated Mass to be led by Bishop Manolo Alarkon de los Santos together with all Caramoan-born Priests. The Liturgical Celebration is sponsored by the Caramoanon-balikbayans and CRANE.

The evening will feature the Tropical Fellowship Night for BALIK CARAMOAN Guests, Sponsors and Benefactors, and CRANE Officers and Members.

 

DAY FIVE May 5 / Saturday

Highlighting the day will be the Bikini Open Competition featuring guest models of the local and national bikini open circuits. The competition starts at mid-afternoon at the Gota Beach.

 

DAY SIX  May 6 /  Sunday

Daytime beginning at 8:00 AM will be the Awarding Ceremonies for the Cultural, Trade, and Performance Showcases, the Sports and Games Competitions, and Awarding of Caramoanons-of-Distinction in their Fields of Excellence.

The evening will feature the Miss Caramoan 2007 Beauty Pageant at the Caramoan Sports Complex. From among the gathering of beauties with roots in Caramoan shall be chosen the fairest of them all

 

DAY SEVEN  May 7 / Monday

The whole day features the Town Fiesta’s Civic Parade, festive and vibrant Street Dancing and the colorful Parade of Floats around the streets of Caramoan Town Proper. The Civic Parade will be participated in by different school contingents, Local Government Officials, Boy and Girl Scouts, and various civic and religious organizations.

The Street Dancing Competition will showcase different contingents doing their sequences and beats a la Rio de Janeiro festival. And riding among the colorful floats will be the winner of the Miss Caramoan 2007 Beauty Pageant and her courts.

The evening will feature the Grand Ballroom Night featuring intermittent competitions on different ballroom dances by dancing afficionanos.

For a grand nightcap, a first-time ever Fireworks Display will brighten the Caramoan skies.

 

DAY EIGHT  May 8 /  Sunday

The town awakes with the sound of drums, bugles and lyre as Marching Bands contingents from different competing schools parade themselves around the streets of Caramoan Town Proper, with pretty majorettes displaying baton-twirling exhibitions leading each contingent.

Late afternoon until late night features the Battle of the Bands to end the eight day affair.
